FRANCE. Salut d'Or, ND (1422-53). Henry VI. NGC MS-63.
Fr-301; Dup-443a; Ciani-598. Weight: 3.47 gms. Obverse: Archangel Gabriel and the Virgin Mary above the coats-of-arms of England and France; Reverse: Cross within multifoil; lis to left, leopard to right, 'H' below. A boldly struck example with clear central features such as the individual fingers of the Virgin Mary. While the legends are full and complete with each letter being crisp and well defined. This lovely and well preserved survivor displays an attractive combination of a pale orange hue in the open areas and atop of the devices, somewhat subduing the luster, complemented by a pale golden color in the protected areas of the legends and this classic motif. A handsome representative of the type worthy of a premium bid from a discerning collector.
