SPANISH NETHERLANDS. Flanders. Lion d'Or, ND (1346-84). Gent Mint. Louis II de Male. NGC MS-64.
Fr-157; Delm-460; Gaill-214; DeMey-196. Weight: 5.37 gms. The single finest certified of the type on the NGC population report, none finer. A boldly struck and highly attractive representative on a broad flan with full complete legends. The design elements are crisp, clear and well defined leaving nothing to the imagination adding to the desirability of this large hammered type. The open areas display an attractive honey-gold tone complemented by a light orange patina amongst the devices while the tops of the design elements exhibit a pale gold color. A type that shows up on the market from time to time in lower quality, but seldom does an example appear in near Gem condition and as such should be considered VERY RARE. A real treat for the quality conscious specialist of hammered gold looking for the best of the best to add to their collection.

Estimate: $8000.00- $12000.00
