AITOLIA. Aitolian League. AR "Triobol" ("Hemidrachm"), Christodoulos forgery from early 20th century. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE.
Svoronos, "Christodoulos the Counterfeiter," 216 (same obverse die); cf. SNG Cop-17 (for prototype). Obverse: Head of Aetolia right, wearing kausia; A to left; Reverse: Kalydonian boar advancing right; monogram below; monogram and spearhead in exergue. An attractively toned and pleasing counterfeit issue made by one of the more infamous forgers of the early 20th century.
