ITALY. Venice. Crete. 5 Lire, 1650. PCGS Genuine--Excessive Corrosion, Fine Details.
KM-13; Paolucci-883. Emergency issue minted under the decree of 10 July 1650. An interesting and seldom offered necessity issue with attractive mottled chocolate and caramel patina. Though the surfaces do display signs of corrosion we feel the designation of "Excessive Corrosion" is a bit extreme, we would say that the surfaces exhibit moderate corrosion at most with portions of the surfaces unmolested. Despite its shortcomings a RARE and neat piece sure to excite the specialist of obsidinal coinage.
Estimate: $100.00- $150.00
