ROMAN EMPIRE

DOMITILLA, (Wife of Vespasian). Struck under TITUS. AE Sestertius (26.3 gms), Rome Mint, A.D. 80-81.
RIC-262. Pair of mules pulling carpentum, right, MEMORIAE / DOMI / TILLAE, above in three lines; Reverse: large SC, legend around. Areas of pitting affect the obverse legend, but little else to any serious degree. Dark patina in the lightly smoothed fields, ligher olive brown on the motifs.VERY FINE.
