CELTIC, Middle Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 13.59 g, 9 h), 'Honter' type. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to right; on horse's neck, countermark: pellet within linear square within square incuse. Dembski 1317. Lanz 687. OTA 380/7. Nicely toned. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die and with a test cut, otherwise, very fine.
