LRI0029. ROMAN EMPIRE: Maximinus I, Thrax, AR Denarius, NGC Choice XF, 5/5, 4/5, AD 235-238 (3.47g). Obverse: Maximinus I. Reverse: Emperor with Spear and 4 Standards. Beautiful coin. Four standards appears to be a rare, unpublished variety. NumisCorner had one for sale and they noted only one other known example which had been for sale on Numismatik Lanz in 2001. Interestingly, NGC did not notice the extra standards.
