Nude helmeted warrior on horseback right, holding shield and two spears, thrusting spear downwards; [ΔAI] below / Phalanthos riding dolphin left, holding trident and shield decorated with hippocamp; TAPAΣ to right, ΦI to left, murex shell below. HN Italy 935. Fischer-Bossert 986ff. Vlasto 594-597. Good Very Fine; richly toned with red iridescence; beautiful style; sharply struck from artistic dies (though obverse die is worn); well centered on a broad flan. An attractive and unusual example, full of character.
