Obv: CONSTANTI - VS CAESAR Head laureate r. Rx: PROVIDEN - TIA AVGG Four-turreted camp gate, with doors flung open, five rows of stones, star above entrance; on each turret a pellet; SMNG in exergue (officina 3). Possibly unpublished variant with PROVIDENTIA (nominative) rather than PROVIDENTIAE (dative) in reverse legend, not recorded by either RIC or RSC. CoinArchives contains just two specimens of this new variant, namely our coin, ex Naumann E86, 20 February 2020, lot 542; and Münzzentrum Rheinland 179, 11 January 2017, lot 542, apparently from the same reverse die but a different obverse die than ours..
