Rx: CONCOR - [DI]A AVGGG Constantinopolis seated facing, head r., r. foot on prow, holding scepter and cornucopia, TRPS in exergue. From the Philip Ashton Collection, purchased from Pegasi, February 2016. This CONCORDIA/Constantinopolis type is substantially rarer on siliquae of Maximus than his normal type, VIRTVS ROMANORVM/Roma, as shown by the Hoxne hoard numbers, 1053 specimens with Roma, only 15 with Constantinopolis; similarly in CoinArchives Pro, about 80 specimens with Roma, 6 with Constantinopolis. Cohen considered our Constantinopolis type to be five times more valuable (50 francs) than the Roma type (10 francs). MS
