Mughal, Shah Jahan I, AH 1037-1068 / AD 1628-1658, gold nazarana mohur (10.83g, 24mm). Akbarabad AH 1042 year 6, horizontal / pointed quatrefoil. Choice Mint State. Struck during the first year of the reform, but with the four-line horizontal inscription obverse of the pre-reform type together with the quatrefoil style for the reverse. Full strike on broad planchet. Nazarana mohurs and silver rupees were struck only for donative purposes.Akbarabad was an honorary name assigned to the city of Agra during the second reign of Shah Jahan I, though local residents always called it Agra. The term Akbarabad was abandoned during the British colonial period.
