One Pound Bradbury First issue T3.3 Black Dot in No. Six digit serial issue 1914 serial number F/31 009978, an Exceptionally Rare and very well preserved over a century old note in GVF to about EF with very minor signs of wear and no observable flaws. These were Emergency notes issued just at the brink of World War I - Lord Atterbury, Controller of H.M Stationery Office and Sir John Bradbury, the Secretary to the Treasury met at his house and produced this design overnight. These were printed rather rapidly on simple Royal cypher and Postage watermarked postal paper with the use of different numbering machines resulting in many varieties, along with the further increase in productivity by printing extra notes sideways on the sheet's margins resulting in another variety - the sideways watermark. A very pleasing and collectible example

Estimate: 300-500 GBP
