Attica, Athens. Silver Tetradrachm (16.95g), 440-404 BC. Light-weight specimen. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with laurel leaves and vine. Reverse: AΘE, owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597; SNG Cop. 31-40; Kroll 8. Boldly struck in high relief on a nice full flan. Untoned and fully lustrous. NGC graded Mint State; Strike 4/5, Surface 2/5, brushed (not obvious). Estimated Value $500 - UP
