Judaica, Group of 6 False Shekels, 16th? to 20th Century. Consists of: Four early pieces are all silver and were cataloged by Bruno Kisch (Shekel Medals and False Shekels) as numbers B24, B32, B40, and B42. Two, probably made around the turn of the century, and are a signed "Spencer" of London piece and an almost identical unsigned piece, both in white metal. And the late issues are the common wide-urn variety. These grade Fine and up for the early pieces and up to AU for the later ones. In addition, there are two early fake Judaean shekels and a counterfeit Bar Kochba sela. A nice starter collection of the popular False Shekel series. Estimated Value $300 - UP
