Canada Bank of Canada $50 1954 Pick 71a BC-34a "Devil's Face" PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. An utterly superb banknote, very rare in anything even close to this grade. The $50 denomination has always been challenging to find in the best of grades, and especially so with the "Devil's Face" hair design. Almost pinpoint centering is easily seen on this note, which is miraculous considering the centering issues that so often plague notes of this series. Only 1.44 million notes were printed with the Coyne / Towers signature combination. At the time of cataloging, this banknote is the single finest example of 188 notes submitted. The small serial number 311 adds desirability to an already prized banknote.
