Egypt National Bank of Egypt 100 Pounds 20.11.1904 Pick 6s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. A show stopper highest denomination Specimen from the first issue for the National Bank of Egypt. The coveted first issue was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Moreover, the date of 1904 exhibited is not listed in the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money. Suffice to say, most Egypt collectors could only dream to be able to include any examples of the first series in their collections, and for the lucky few who can, Specimen are most likely the only format that they would be able to acquire. The first issue was convertible to gold. The face value on this Pick represented an astronomical amount. Beautifully printed, the face depicts Trajan's Kiosk on the Island of Philae. Guilloche patterns decorate the back. Mismatched serials and cancelled perforations are seen. This example places second highest on the PMG census of only seven graded. Understandably, this Specimen was previously mounted, as indicated on the holder. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/egypt-national-bank-of-egypt-100-pounds-20111904-pick-6s-specimen-pmg-choice-uncirculated-63/a/4025-28232.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4025 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
