French Afars & Issas Tresor Public 500 Francs ND (1973) Pick 31 PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. A technically "Superb" offering from a short lived transitional series, examples are rarely seen today in this grade. The Territory of Afars & Issas voted in 1977 to be independent from France, and the name of the country was changed to Djibouti. A new series of banknotes was prepared as such, leaving these colonial types to be redeemed.
