India Government of India 500 Rupees 10.5.1913 Pick A18Ab Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 2A.6.2D.3 PMG Very Fine 30. An utterly superb note, rarely seen in any grade, this is the key denomination of the series, practically speaking. It is definitely more common to encounter either the 100 or 1000 Rupees, making this type a glaring hole in many collections. Despite a plethora of notations and a paper clip mark, the paper retains good body and the colors are still bold. The Denning signature is still visible. This is the first uniface 500 Rupees we have offered. The low opening should stir spirited bidding. No issued examples have sold in public auction since 2015, and at the time of cataloging, this example is tied atop the PMG Population Report, with only four examples submitted. The typical spindle hole at issue is mentioned. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/india-government-of-india-500-rupees-1051913-pick-a18ab-jhunjhunwalla-razack-2a62d3-pmg-very-fine-30/a/4025-28380.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4025 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
