New Zealand Reserve Bank of New Zealand 50 Pounds ND (1940-55) Pick 162a PMG Very Fine 30. Internationally renowned for its high face value and rarity, this bright red banknote is missing from many relevant collections. First issued in 1940, this denomination replaced the Maori Chief portrait notes, and circulated until decimalization in 1967. This example features the first signature variety, of which only 299,000 notes were printed and issued between 1940 and 1958. We have not offered this type since 2014.
