Puerto Rico Banco De Puerto Rico 5 Pesos = 5 Dollars ND (1904) Pick 41s Specimen PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. This outstanding Specimen represents the initial denomination of the 1904 series, from which any surviving numismatic item is very rare today. Completely original paper is easily seen through the third party holder. The extra wide top margin adds to the visual appeal of this famed rarity. Interestingly, the Banco de Puerto Rico began in 1857 as the Banco Espanol de Puerto Rico. It ended its run in 1930, when it was purchased by the Banco Popular. Amazingly, we have not offered any banknote or Specimen from the 1904 series previously. Perhaps, it is because the 1904 series was short lived, as new banknotes were issued in 1909. Quite scarce, and very desirable.
