MONOGRAPHS
Rollin & Feuardent. Paris, 7-8 June 1886. Collection de M. le Vicomte de Ponton d'Amécourt. Monnaies Gauloises, Mérovingiennes, Carlovingiennes et Capétiennes. 341 + 32 lots, 51 pages, 3 engraved plates. (17x26cm), new grey imitation leather, black spine letters, original printed paper cover affixed to front. Minor foxing at edges, otherwise Very Good to Near Fine.
A note from BCD: An extremely important collection and an essential price reference manual of the late 19th century, not so much for the Celtic or Merovingian but for the great rarities in the Carolingian series it contained. The three plates are fine examples of precision in engraving.
