CHINA: AR freedom dollar, ND (1989), Anti-Communist symbol and peripheral Chinese legend countermarked on Chinese ND (1927) Memento Dollar; same central symbol on reverse with peripheral legend in English - "CHINA FREEDOM DOLLAR SUPPORT THE FEDERATION SAVE THE STUDENTS", with original paper folder of issue, lustrous and attractive countermark, Unc on AU host. These pieces were made following the 1989 Tian An Men Square massacre in Beijing by The Berkeley Chinese Students & Scholars Association (B.C.S.S.A.) in California to help raise funds for Chinese exchange students stranded in the USA.
