TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, large tin coin, cast (61.80g), Robinson-18 (Plate 10.1), 69mm, mythical hintha bird facing right, Burmese legend around, which means "city of great happiness" // knotted dragon above the sea, amazingly bold, fabulous example! EF to About Unc, RRR. Two examples of this extremely rare type appeared in our previous auctions (Auction 33, Lot 1001 & Auction 35, Lot 1868), both from the same mold, but this piece is from another mold. This piece has one minuscule natural casting flaw near the rim, barely noticeable.
