NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES:LOT of 9 copper 'bonk' coins including: AE stuiver (20.72g), 1803, KM-206, Batavian Republic, first standard, minor porosity; AE 2 stuiver (19.00g), 1810, KM-224.1, Kingdom of Holland, second standard, porous surfaces; AE stuiver (17.71g), 1806, KM-210, Batavian Republic, second standard; square AE 2 stuiver 180x (43.74g) with extra metal from the casting process of the bars later cut to form the blanks; rectangular AE 2 stuiver 180x (43.87g); and square 1 stuiver 180x (18.71g); average VG condition, all with much porosity, plus 3 contemporary imitations of 'bonks', all denominated as 2 stuiver, but at severely reduced weights: two pieces dated 1818 (one at 3.33g, almost 1/10 of the normal weight for that year! the other 4.38g); and the third dated 1808 (12.87g); average VG condition, an interesting group, retail value $450, lot of 9 pieces, ex Wolfgang Schuster Collection.
