The Weidenbaumtaler or "willow tree" is the name for a type of thaler of the landgraves Wilhelm V and Wilhelm VI, which was minted in numerous variants from 1627 to 1639 at Hesse-Cassel, that shows on one side a willow tree in a storm, which should actually be a palm tree (Psalms 92:12-15), and on the other the state coat of arms or only the Hessian lion.
