Zhen Guan refers to the era during which Emperor Taizong (Li Shimin) of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) ruled. The Chinese characters on the reverse side are jue bo, which was the name of one of these horses. Jue Bo would roughly translate as "bursting as a wave." This charm type was likely cast in the Qing dynasty.
