GREAT MONGOLS:LOT of 13 silver coins (one appears to be heavily debased gold): an important research group, mostly anonymous, but some clearly cite somebody named Abu Nasr, others have undeciphered words or names in the field; most cite the caliph al-Nasir, who died in 1225, one cites his successor al-Mustansir; all are crudely struck, and all appear to be from different sets of dies; retail value, if someday identified, should be at least $1000, lot of 13 pieces. Three pieces bear a bow & arrow above the reverse field, exactly as on the Great Mongol issue of Qunduz (A-1972, Tye-334), except the bow & arrow face upwards, downwards on Tye-334. This suggests that they should be dated in the 1220s to 1230s, some perhaps later. It is best that these be kept together as a research group until they can eventually be securely identified.

Estimate: 600-700 USD
