WARRING STATES: AE halberd, 475-221 BC, set of so-called "halberd head money", the ge bi (miniature halberd), 96x40mm, and another 80x28mm, light encrustation as usual, set of 2 items, VF, ex Charles Opitz Collection. These are mentioned in Jen's book, in which he writes that they were found starting in 1986 around Shaoxing, Zhejiang, site of the ancient State of Yue. These are listed on page 155 in "An Ethnographic Study of Traditional Money: A Definition of Money and Descriptions of Traditional Money" by Charles Opitz. Photo size reduced.
