ROMAN REPUBLIC. L. Aurelius Cotta. Circa 102 BC. Silver serrate denarius (3.91 gm). Draped bust of Vulcanus right, wearing conical cap bound with laurel crown, tongs behind, mark of value XVI in monogram thereabove, myrtle-crown frame within dotted border / Eagle standing half-right on thunderbolt, head reverted, control letter before, L• COT below, framed by laurel crown with berries, dotted border. RRC 314/1c. Well centered and nicely toned. Good very fine
