James II (1685-1688), Two-Guineas, 1687, laureate head left, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, edge obliquely milled, 16.81g, 6h (Murdoch II, 692; King - [cf. 121]; Schneider II, 454; MCE 121; Spink 3399), lustrous with attractive overlying orange toning, a handsome coin, good very fine, this type seldom encountered at public auction and even more so this well preserved, very rare thus.
