George II (1727-1760), Two-Guineas, 1735, first younger laureate head left, stop above head, rev. crowned garnished shield with rounded arches, edge obliquely milled, 16.71g, 7h (Murdoch III, -; Douglas-Morris 58, same dies; King -; Schneider II, 568, dies 2/2; MCE 290; Spink 3667A), spots of toning across quite brilliant surfaces, near extremely fine, a very rare date and the finest example to feature at a global public auction for at least a decade and first through this house in as many years.
