(g) Victoria (1837-1901), Five-Pounds, 1887, 39.97g, 12h (MCE -; Spink 3864), a superlative example for a currency issue with rich surface brilliance in obverse fields framing a cameo-like portrait, the reverse with partial frosting overlying cartwheel mint bloom, the occasional spot of tone otherwise practically as struck, a truly glorious coin with great eye appeal.
