James II (1685-1688), Guinea, 1687, second laureate head left, flared nostril, large D in DEI, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, edge obliquely milled, 8.34g, 6h (Murdoch II, 696[b]; King - [cf. 122]; Schneider II, 457; MCE 128; Spink 3402), once lightly wiped on obverse and some haymarking on reverse, otherwise lustrous, almost extremely fine.
