George II (1727-1760), Guinea, 1736, 'large lettering', second young laureate head left, rev. crowned garnished shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.36g, 6h (Murdoch III, -; Douglas-Morris -; King - [cf. 174]; Schneider II, 587; MCE 312; Spink 3674), hints of reddish tone overlying lustrous surfaces, the portrait softly struck on high points, otherwise exemplary for type, almost extremely fine to much as struck, rare thus.
