In this portrayal, the hoplite is preparing to compete in a foot race, in which runners carried their military gear - Rev. Quadripartite incuse pUNCh. Very rare, similar pieces were offered in Triton VI (14 January 2003, lot 308) and Stack's Golden Horn (12 January 2009, lot 2020). F/VF-
