The T. R. Hardaker Collection, British Coins, Charles I, Newark besieged, ? ninepence ?, 164?, very worn
This unusual piece weighs 4.5gms. and was no doubt used as a pocket piece. We have assumed it to be a ninepence because of its weight, but the date is indecipherable and the only letter that is visible is the K of NEWARK(E). Nevertheless, this piece would be useful as a filler.
