CRETE, Hierapytna. Circa 200-67 BC. AR Didrachm (23.5mm, 6.68 g, 12h). Samagoras, magistrate. Turreted head of Tyche right; B to left; all within circle of dots / Palm tree; ΣAMA/ΓOPAΣ in two lines and (TM)OB to left; to right, eagle standing left, wings displayed; all within wreath. Svoronos, Numismatique 29; SNG Copenhagen –; Hunterian 15. Lightly toned, scratches, some roughness and porosity. Good VF. Very rare.
