ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 720-735. AR Sceatt (12mm, 0.92 g, 6h). Series K, type 32a. Mint in Essex or Kent. Diademed and draped bust right, knot behind head, holding cross, / Serpent-headed wolf, with forelimbs, coiled counter-clockwise. Cf. Metcalf & Walker 28; Abramson 39-20; MEC 8 Series Kb, 372-4; North 89; SCBC 803D. Toned, minor porosity. Good VF. Very rare with wolf left.
