Imagine the delight of an Englishman when this tiny coin was first encountered-money that ordinary people might actually see yet displaying the image of the new queen crisply engraved in gold! For such folk there was no other way to gaze upon Her Majesty. That this delightful coin had to be put aside shortly after issue must explain its survival.
