GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Dollar, 1910/00-B. Bombay Mint. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
KM-T5; Mars-BTD1; Prid-20. Overdate variety. Tied for fourth finest certified of the overdate with 10 other examples on the PCGS population report, only surpassed by eight pieces (PCGS MS 63[4], MS 64[3] & MS 65[1]). The overdate is quite clear and bold with about half of the under-digit "0" visible without the aid of magnification. Also of note are several die cracks offering interesting characteristics and diagnostics for this particular set of dies. The obverse displays a long thin crack at 11 o'clock that extends inward toward Britannia's head terminating in the field just after her helmets plumage, a smaller branched off crack on the left side of the trident extends into the field following the shaft until just below her hand. While the reverse displays three faint unevenly spaced straight cracks around the circumference that extend from the edge towards the central designs. A well struck and lustrous survivor displaying rich mottled tone in the peripheries of the obverse with light speckled tone on the reverse. An interesting example with a fascinating obverse characteristic that gives the appearance of Britannia being struck by lightning sure to see much collector interest.

Estimate: $900.00- $1200.00
