INDIA. Portuguese India. Goa. 12 Xerafins, 1790. Maria I. NGC MS-63.
Fr-1487; KM-187. Weight: 4.90 gms. Crudely produced as is typical, yet fully brilliant throughout, with a meandering crack in the planchet and a small area of bluntness in the design that contributes to the uniqueness of this coin's appearance. While attributed as the 1790 date, it seems indeterminable upon close inspection, with die linking being a possible way to find certainty. As it is, the single finest example that NGC has attributed to this date, making it a prize for either the specialist or type collector that seeks elite quality items.
Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
