JAPAN. Bronze Momme Pattern, ND (1869). Heaton Mint. NGC AU-53.
KM-Pn4. Diameter: 39.5mm. Obverse: Crossed flags with Mount Fuji above; Reverse: Denomination above and below center hole. A charming example of this VERY RARE early Meiji-period pattern which possesses a strong strike and smooth, chocolate-brown surfaces. Despite showing evidence of past handling, this is the finest example we've seen, with the only other example in archived auction records being a damaged example that appeared in a German auction in 2014. As such, a coin that will undoubtedly excite the specialist.
Estimate: $3000.00- $6000.00
