KOREA. Choson Dynasty. Solid Longevity Chatelaine Plus Charms and Cash (20 pieces), ND (ca. 19th Century). VERY FINE.
M-102.3; H-86. 106 mm. Obverse: Large longevity symbol flanked by clouds and surrounded by eight mythical beasts; Reverse: Reverse: Octagonal emblem with inscription surrounded by five bats. Much of the original red and green pigment on the obverse is still intact in the protected areas and crevasses, but does show signs off flaking in the fields and tops of the devices. The red pigment on the high points of the bats has worn away and flaked off while the outer fields actual retain most of the blue pigment which has long since oxidized turning to a deeper coloration almost black. Upon close inspection small areas of the pigment have chipped away revealing the vibrant blue pigment. Also included in are several colorful charms (4 pieces) and Chinese Cash coins of Chien Lung (15 pieces) all with red pigment. An always in demand item certain to see spirited bidding from many collectors.

Estimate: $900.00- $1200.00
