Often times the translation of Qilin from Chinese to English is "Unicorn", but this is somewhat misleading as they can be found depicted with one or two horns. In modern times a separate word "Dujiaoshou" is used in Chinese for "Unicorn" and though a number of Chinese mythical creatures can be found depicted with one horn a Qilin with one horn would be called a "one-horned Qilin" in Chinese not a "Unicorn".
