CHINA. Zhou Dynasty. Warring States Period. State of Qi. Six Character Knife Money, ND (ca. 400-220 B.C.). VERY FINE.
Hartill-4.4m; DCD-404; FD-350; S-44. Obverse: "Qi Jian/Zao Bang Chang Fa Huo" (Qi establish/make state long legal money) in seal script; Reverse: "Che", though the character is slightly smaller than the other six character knife also in this sale. An attractive and wholesome example of this highly prized and sought after knife type displaying lovely mottled green and brown patina with minor earth deposits throughout. A type that is far more RARE than that more commonly encountered three character knives certain to see spirited bidding from advanced collectors.

Estimate: $9000.00- $12000.00
