(t) CHINA. Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty. Fujian. 50 Cash, ND (ca. 1853-55). Fuzhou Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Graded "Genuine" Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.795; FD-2525; S-1591. Weight: 103.8 gms. Type 5. Obverse: "Xian Feng zhong bao"; Reverse: "Wu shi" (Fifty[Cash]); Rim: "Er liang wu qian" (2 liang 5 qian). A popular large format type from a popular ruler exhibiting rich brown patina with areas of lighter coloration on both sides. Holed at 12 from long ago presumably done for suspension now toned over matching the rest of the coin. Despite its shortcomings a handsome example of the type sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.

Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
