CHINA. Kweilin Mint Copper Medal, Year 28 (1939). PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield.
cf. L&M-1002 (silver plated copper); KMX-820. Obverse: Rock cliffs with nearby buildings and surrounding landscape; Reverse: Spade money depiction at center with surrounding circle of characters and ornate edge designs. Struck to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the Kweilin mint, this pleasing example is free from issue and presents deep brown and brick red surfaces. Generally encountered with a silver wash, this RARE specimen instead seemingly features untouched copper.
