(t) CHINA. Hunan. Copper 10 Cash Pattern, ND (1902). NGC MS-63 Brown.
CL-HUN.98; KM-Pn5; CCC-193; Duan-702. Variety with five-petaled rosettes on either side of the dragon. An enchanting example of this RARE pattern, sharply defined throughout, with shades of orange, green and blue tone appearing in the moderately reflective fields. While this pattern appears from time to time, more often than not, it's accompanied by some form of damage. Not only is this piece undamaged and wholly original, but it is currently the finest graded by NGC, with a single comparable 63 also residing in the PCGS census. A wonderful opportunity for the specialist as such.
