Shanghai. Red Specimen overprint. Perforated Cancelled. A lovely Gem example of this 50 Dollars Specimen note, seen with a red and green design on the face a detailed design standing out. The reverse displays Minerva at center holding a spear and shield in her right hand, with a book in her left hand seated next to a globe. "50" counters are seen at left and right surrounded by an ornate design, with lion's head at bottom center. PMG's pop report lists just 8 specimen's encapsulated by their service, and we believe this example to be the finest known. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
