Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III the Great. 336-323 B.C. AE 18 (17 mm, 5.60 g, 9 h). Uncertain Macedonian mint. Head of Alexander as young Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied at throat / [A]ΛEΞANΔPO[Y], name horizontally between bow and bowcase above, to left, and club beneath, grip to left. cantharus, kylix or similar single-handled vessel at bottom. Cf. Price 325, 343, 345. VF, well struck on compact flan; dark green patina, scant tan deposits in fields and recesses.
